Doing what you know you should is easier said than done...

... And yet it's always worth it.

After a weekend of turning my insides out with a surprise illness that took me for a whirlwind of epic proportions, I'm back on the upswing with a little lesson that's on my mind.

If there's one thing I've learned in my 12 years long, deep journey of self improvement, it's this:

When you feel resistance towards doing something that you objectively understand you *should *do...

That resistance isn't a stop sign. It's a green light. It's not saying "don't do this" it's saying "lean into this" — but it's very easy to get it confused because that resistance feels like discomfort, and the human brain is hardwired to avoid discomfort and seek pleasure. Yet that pleasure seeking leads to the worst thing you can do... Letting your discomfort stop you from doing something that would be in your better interests, and lulling yourself into a false sense of comfort instead.

False because it ain't real.

Because the problem is still there, no matter how deeply we try to bury it.

Food for thought on this lovely Monday afternoon.

And if the thing you know you should do involves getting help with a certain pesky problem that just keeps coming back...

Here's where to find me:
